Feed Love uses USDA FoodData Central records for nutrient values and exposes source identifiers so a match can be reviewed.
AI can help turn recipe prose into structured ingredients and can explain an existing analysis, but it is not used as the source of calculated nutrient values.
Database records vary in which nutrients they report. Feed Love marks partial coverage instead of silently converting a missing value into zero.
The same named food can also differ by brand, fortification, preparation and database type, so the source record is part of the result rather than hidden metadata.
Public recipe and ingredient pages should therefore be read as transparent estimates tied to the displayed match and portion—not as laboratory measurements of a specific plate.
